I was leaving for aurangabad, I hadn’t slept for the whole night. The flight was at 2 PM, and I had to reach the airport @ 11 AM, so I had to wake no matter! I turned on the TV just to look around the world news thinking may be that could help me wake up! But actually it really did help me, I switched to CNN and saw a documentary by CNN – “CNN Presents: Black in America“.

CNN Presents: Black in America continues with “The Black Woman & Family.” Soledad O’Brien explores the varied experiences of black women and families and investigates the disturbing statistics of single parenthood, racial disparities between students and the devastating toll of HIV/AIDS. O’Brien reports on the progress of black women in the workplace and the status of the black middle class.

Well, It actually showed me where America is now! The most important part of the documentary was the effect of television on the community. It actually showed how television portrayed – sex, violence & money as the power materials. Showing how the black rappers showed gals, glam, guns and gold in most of their music videos, making an impact on the mindset of the people that these were the quickest way to earn money and be rich & comfortable.

I believe it is similar to where India is getting, same way we see glam & gals at least in most of the movies & music videos. It’s not bad I say, but its something we are getting too much into our lives! Ultimate it comes to where the idiot box is leading to..?
